Distribution
Found in the river flats of the Kaimanawa and Ruahine Ranges, at altitudes of 900 to 1200 metres. This is a rare plant, which is in gradual decline.
Description
A grass with soft, bronze leaves, grows up to 35cm long and 30-40cm wide.
Cultivation
This grass-like monocotyledon: {Any of various flowering plants, such as grasses, orchids, and lilies, having a single cotyledon in the seed} herb is suitable for a range of sites, including cold, coastal, dry and swampy areas. Plant in full sun, in moist, rich and well-drained soil. It can handle quite wet conditions so long as there is adequate drainage.
