HI Helen, Nephrolepis is a great fern and it looks lovely at the stage your photo shows. Once it has taken over the garden it is less desirable so keep it controlled. Even the native species can be invasive. At least they are easier to remove as they do not have the bulbous tuber that breaks off the exotic forms to regrow.
