Summer planting
Contrary to popular opinion, summer planting is fine as long as adequate water is provided throughout any prolonged dry periods. This allows you to take advantage of increased summer growth.

Nothofagus menziesii
Nothofagus menziesii is the host plant for the mistletoe, Peraxilla colensoi. This plant was one of several adorning beech trees along a roadside in the Catlins in January.
