When the Monarch Butterfly NZ Trust wanted to give a gift of plants, locally sourced from Rarangi Beach, east of Blenheim, they came to Oratia. Not only could we provide an eco-sourced species, it was also a plant which had since disappeared from the region!

This is the Trust's story.

Lush green foliage. Prefers dry situations in semi shade and good soil. Excellent pot plant.

The Royal Melbourne Botanical Gardens has many healthy clumps of Asplenium oblongifolium growing - mostly in the NZ display on the 'Southern Lawn', but also in the Fern Gully. For those yet to visit please check out. This particular plant was putting on a show when I happened to stroll by...GH
