Wheki tree fern in my back garden - Henderson Waitakere
Dicksonia squarrosa unfolding frond on Oakley Creek.
Mature Wheki by totara in our garden. It really gives our living space its whole character, being visible from the front door, the living room and the dining room table.
What appears a cluster of separate plants is more likely a single plant connected by underground rhizomes.
Dicksonia squarrosa with a new aerial bud. Note the opportunistic rata on the trunk, along with a host of other tiny ferns and mosses.
