Summer planting
Contrary to popular opinion, summer planting is fine as long as adequate water is provided throughout any prolonged dry periods. This allows you to take advantage of increased summer growth.

My daughter's favourite because it's pink and opens up in the sun. Maori name is apparently horokaka - this picture in late-Oct2011
This groundcover thrives in our difficult salt-and-sand blown West Coast (NI) garden. It likes it here under the ranchslider door too.
