Summer planting
Contrary to popular opinion, summer planting is fine as long as adequate water is provided throughout any prolonged dry periods. This allows you to take advantage of increased summer growth.

Tawhiri karo (Shrub)
Open habit. Interesting leaf arrangement (whorls). Often epiphytic on trees or on rocks. Has sweet scented red flowers and the open capsules are orange. Fast growing.
