Fine-leaved tufted, tawny tussock. Spiky in habit.

Ficinia nodosa - Knobby club rush, Wiwi
A fine green-orange sedge that forms fountain like clumps on dry rocky headlands around the coastline. Formerly called Isolepis nodosa.

Ficinia spiralis - Pingao
Pingao was named Desmoschoenus spiralis but genetic research shows it is closely related to Ficinia - a mainly South African genus. It is the frontline of vegetation on moving sand dunes. Striking green/orange colouring.
